ABOUT ME

I am a bilingual Counselling Psychologist providing therapy in English and Polish for adults. I am also a registered member of the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Having worked in diverse healthcare environments, I have had the privilege of supporting patients dealing with a range of physical health challenges, with a particular focus on cancer care. I have worked with individuals at various stages of their health journeys—from diagnosis and treatment to survivorship and end-of-life care. This comprehensive exposure has allowed me to develop a nuanced understanding of the psychological complexities that arise in these contexts.

My passion for working with cancer patients stems from a deep belief in the importance of psychological support during such a critical time in their lives. I understand that a cancer diagnosis can bring about a whirlwind of emotions—fear, anxiety, sadness, and uncertainty. It is my mission to provide compassionate care that addresses these emotional challenges, helping clients develop coping strategies and fostering a sense of hope and empowerment.

In my practice, I work with clients facing various difficulties, including anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma,  low self-esteem, burnout, perfectionism, bereavement, work-related stress and relationship difficulties. A significantaspect of my practice also involves working with expatriates who face unique challenges when adapting to life in a new country.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology – York St John University (Minimum of 450 hours working with clients in different therapeutic settings)

  • Master’s degree in psychology – University of Warsaw

  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills

  • Registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) regulating body and the British Psychological Society (BPS)

  • I keep up to date with relevant research and thinking in the area and undertake further training as appropriate and out of interest.

My Approach

There is no single approach to therapy that will help everyone. I use a wide range of psychological modalities, including Person-Centred therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). This enables me to practice and use an integrated approach, listen with genuine curiosity and cultural sensitivity, and treat each client's story and background as unique while adapting my approach accordingly.

I strongly believe that a successful change in therapy depends on building a strong therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist. This relationship should be based on trust, empathy, respect, boundaries, and mutual understanding. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you feel comfortable and safe sharing and exploring your concerns. During the assessment process, we will work together to collaboratively understand your difficulties, identify your therapy goals and use them as a guide to develop and formulate a treatment plan.
